PestalozziWorld School: Tackling poverty with education

Established in 1995 PestalozziWorld is an international educational charity which provides scholarships to children from disadvantaged rural or refugee families, enabling them to attend secondary school.  For many such children, the alternative is to work in subsistence farming, as laborers, or, in the case of girls, may be early or underage marriage. We select two girls for every boy when awarding the stipends.

LOCATION:

International Villages in India and Zambia; hostels and skills centres; fundraising organizations in the United States, the UK, Switzerland and Ireland; and alumni groups for Indians, Malawians, Nepalese, Thais, Tibetans and Zambians.

OUR INPUT:

Supporting the boarding school – with equipment, infrastructure, education, and talent promotion programs since 2015. Added to which we provided a kitchen garden – and built a kitchen.
The JAF Foundation did as well support the PestalozziWorld’s partnership with Edulution in order to provide several hundred children in remote rural communities with access to quality mathematics education through a tablet learning program.
